DENISE D. CANADA joined the firm in November 2010. Ms. Canada’s practice focuses on civil litigation. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 1979. Ms. Canada received her law degree with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 1995, where she was a recipient of American Jurisprudence Awards in Appellate Advocacy and Insurance Law. Ms. Canada also served as the Associate Editor of the American Indian Law Review and was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.
Ms. Canada has 15 years of experience in civil litigation and is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in Colorado and Oklahoma. She is a member of the American, Colorado, and Oklahoma Bar Associations. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Canada was a partner in an Oklahoma City law firm where she specialized in the defense of health care providers. She is experienced in defending claims involving medical malpractice, physician credentialing and peer review, HIPAA and EMTALA compliance, premises liability, and employment law. She has also provided clients with consulting services and in-service education on loss prevention and risk management, as well as preparation of policies and procedures. Ms. Canada was recognized by her peers as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer in 2009.
