DAVID L. SMITH is a founding member of Ruegsegger Simons Smith & Stern, LLC. Mr. Smith’s area of practice is civil litigation, including workers’ compensation issues and employment law. Mr. Smith has over 10 years of experience litigating all facets of Colorado workers' compensation claims. Mr. Smith’s experiences with employment law include Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor and Standards Act, and the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act. Mr. Smith also has served as a Special Prosecutor for the City and County of Denver and has expertise in damages issues.

Mr. Smith graduated cum laude from the University of Texas in 1986, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Russian. Mr. Smith received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1992.

Mr. Smith is licensed to practice law in Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. Mr. Smith is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Denver Bar Association.
