DOUGLAS P. RUEGSEGGER is the founding member of Ruegsegger Simons Smith & Stern, LLC. Mr. Ruegsegger focuses his practice in litigation, with heavy emphasis in workers’ compensation matters, including appellate work and medicare set-aside arrangements. He also handles corporate and health care law issues, including physician peer review and reporting requirements. Mr. Ruegsegger is the firm’s managing partner.

Mr. Ruegsegger graduated magna cum laude from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In 1984, Mr. Ruegsegger received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was a member of the University of Colorado Law Review.

Mr. Ruegsegger is licensed to practice law in Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Ruegsegger has given many talks on workers’ compensation in Colorado, including “AIDS in the Workplace,” “The Art of Testifying,” and “Depositions in Workers Compensation Cases.”
