GARY TRUMAN practices primarily employment law and general civil litigation. He advises and defends employers in a wide range of employment law matters, including employment discrimination, wrongful termination, employee handbooks and personnel policies, non-compete agreements, wage and hour issues, reductions in force, and drug and alcohol testing. Mr. Truman has experience representing police departments in discipline and discharge matters, and investigating alleged misconduct by municipal employees.
Mr. Truman has given seminar presentations and conducted in-house training for employers on employment law topics such as sexual harassment, drafting employee handbooks, and workplace violence. He is the author of Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Veterinary Workplace, AAHA Press (1998) and has written legal columns for TRENDS magazine, also published by AAHA Press.
As former general counsel to a company that markets and administers service contracts throughout the United States, Mr. Truman’s experience includes drafting and negotiating contracts, and commercial arbitration and litigation. He also has substantial experience with Medicare set-aside arrangements in connection with workers’ compensation settlements.
Mr. Truman earned his law degree from the University of Texas in 1992. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Texas, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. Mr. Truman is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and its Labor and Employment Law Section. |
