PAUL D. GODEC is special counsel with the firm and focuses on complex civil litigation, employment law, and administrative law. Prior to his current position, Mr. Godec obtained extensive experience in employment litigation – particularly involving employment discrimination and defense of public safety personnel. Mr. Godec also has considerable experience in administrative proceedings regarding public employment and regarding professional licensure and privileging for health care providers. Mr. Godec earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1986, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rice University in 1983. Mr. Godec has lectured frequently on various topics involving litigation and employment law. Mr. Godec has also published several articles including: “ Recent Legal Developments Encourage De-Selection of Incompetent Doctors,” Am. Health Lawyers Ass’n Physician Organizations (2002); “Polygraph Tests,” CPPA Law Enforcement Journal (1995); “Peace Officers’ Duties and Potential Liabilities Under Colorado’s Domestic Violence Statutes,” CPPA Law Enforcement Journal (1994); “Publication of Legal Notices by Colorado Municipalities,” The Colorado Lawyer (1993); “Warrantless Inspection of Private Premises by Municipal Code Enforcement Officers,” The Colorado Lawyer (1992); “Taxation Innovations: Enhanced Sales Tax Incentive Programs,” Urban Lawyer (1990).
Mr. Godec has served clients in various Colorado trial courts and appellate courts. Mr. Godec has also served clients before the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Godec is a member of the American Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, and Denver Bar Association.
