KATHERINE (“KATE”) MACKEY is a Member at Ruegsegger Simons & Stern, LLC. Ms. Mackey joined the firm in 2007. She focuses her practice in litigation, with an emphasis in workers’ compensation matters.
Ms. Mackey has served on the Board of the Professionals in Workers’ Compensation, the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors’ and Legislative Policy Committee liaison for the CBA Workers’ Compensation Section, and is presently serving on the executive council for the CBA Workers’ Compensation Section. Ms. Mackey served on the 2021 Advisory Panel for the revisions to the Division of Workers’ Compensation Low Back Pain and Cervical Spine Injury Medical Treatment Guidelines. She has frequently presented at the Colorado Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Update programs.
Ms. Mackey was nominated as a 5280 Magazine Top Lawyer for 2021, 2022 and 2023. She was born in Ionia, Michigan. She helped establish what has become a thriving public art program in her community, acting as chair for several years for that committee. Ms. Mackey has also chaired the Board of the Colorado SIDS Program. She has been a committed coach for her local CBA High School Mock Trial Team for several years.
